Preventive self-sealing tyre protection solution enters Singapore through exclusive distributorship with Tuffi, marking the next phase of TireShield’s regional growth
SINGAPORE, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TireShield, a preventive self-sealing tyre protection solution, has officially entered the Singapore market through an exclusive distributorship agreement with Tuffi, marking a significant milestone in TireShield’s Southeast Asian expansion.
TireShield Partners with Tuffi for Exclusive Singapore Launch
Following its establishment in Malaysia, the Singapore launch represents the next phase of TireShield’s regional growth strategy, with Thailand identified as its next planned market.
Designed to shift tyre protection from a reactive response to a more preventive approach, TireShield is applied to the inner surface of a tyre before a puncture occurs. Its specially formulated material forms a flexible protective layer designed to respond when common road hazards, such as nails or screws, penetrate the tyre tread.
When a qualifying puncture occurs, the material surrounds the penetrating object and helps prevent air loss. When the object is removed, the material is designed to close around the puncture and continue helping the tyre retain air.
Unlike conventional emergency sealants that are typically used after a puncture has occurred, TireShield is installed beforehand, providing motorists and vehicle operators with an additional layer of preventive protection.
Strategic Leadership and Regional Vision
The regional expansion is led by Mr Bernard Teo, Founder of TireShield, whose vision is centred on changing the way motorists and businesses approach tyre protection from responding to punctures after they happen to consider preventive protection before they occur.
Mr Teo said:
“TireShield was developed around a fundamental shift in how we think about tyre protection moving from a reactive approach towards a preventive one. Instead of waiting for a puncture to disrupt a journey, we want to provide motorists and fleet operators with an additional layer of protection before it happens. Our goal is to reshape how people think about tyre protection and resilience across Southeast Asia.”
For TireShield, regional expansion is not simply about entering new markets. The strategy focuses on building market confidence, developing strong local partnerships, providing appropriate technical and customer support, and creating a sustainable model for longer-term regional growth.
Mr Teo added:
“Our regional growth is carefully planned. The priority is to build trust in the product, provide the right technical support and work with partners who share our long-term vision. The experience we gained in Malaysia has provided an important foundation, while Singapore gives us the opportunity to further refine our approach as we prepare for our next planned market, Thailand.”
Leveraging More Than 50 Years of Automotive Experience
To establish its presence in Singapore, TireShield has appointed Tuffi as its sole distributor, bringing together TireShield’s tyre protection technology with Tuffi’s more than five decades of automotive industry experience.
Established in 1974, Tuffi began with Tuff-Kote rustproofing as one of its core businesses and has since expanded into a broader range of automotive protection and care solutions, including paint protection, solar film, vehicle grooming, windscreen-related services and other automotive services.
Under the partnership, Tuffi will support TireShield’s local distribution, market development, installation, customer engagement and the progressive development of retail and commercial opportunities in Singapore.
The appointment reflects the shared focus of both parties on innovation, quality, reliability, customer education and practical automotive protection solutions.
Ms Shu Yi Mei of Tuffi said:
“Modern automotive protection has evolved beyond traditional areas such as rustproofing and paint protection. Today’s motorists are also looking for practical solutions that can help reduce inconvenience, disruption and everyday road risks. TireShield fits naturally into this direction by introducing a preventive approach to a problem that many motorists only think about after a puncture happens.”
A Preventive Approach to Everyday Tyre Punctures
While a tyre puncture may appear to be a relatively minor vehicle issue, its impact can extend beyond the tyre itself.
For individual motorists, an unexpected puncture can disrupt work, appointments, family journeys and daily schedules. For commercial fleets, logistics operators and other businesses, tyre-related downtime can contribute to operational delays and lost productivity.
TireShield is primarily designed to address qualifying tread-area punctures caused by common sharp road debris, including nails, screws and similar small objects.
The product is applied to the inner surface of an existing tyre through a controlled application process. The tyre is first removed before its inner surface is properly cleaned and prepared. TireShield is then applied to form a flexible protective layer before the tyre is reinstalled and balanced where required.
TireShield is designed to provide long-lasting protection throughout the usable life of the tyre, subject to normal tyre wear and operating conditions.
The technology is intended to complement, rather than replace, normal tyre maintenance. Motorists should continue regular tyre-pressure checks, inspections and servicing as part of responsible vehicle maintenance.
Depending on tyre size, construction, application requirements and operating conditions, TireShield can potentially be applied across a variety of vehicle categories, including passenger cars, vans, commercial and delivery vehicles, buses, fleet and logistics vehicles and other specialised applications.
Building Market Confidence Through Education and Transparency
As TireShield enters Singapore, both TireShield and Tuffi are placing strong emphasis on product education, demonstrations and transparency.
Rather than positioning TireShield as making tyres “indestructible”, the product is presented as an additional layer of preventive protection designed primarily for qualifying tread-area punctures.
Both parties believe that building long-term consumer confidence requires motorists and industry partners to understand not only what the technology is designed to do, but also its appropriate applications and limitations.
Ms Shu Yi Mei said:
“Trust is particularly important when introducing a new automotive solution. We want motorists to understand how TireShield works, what it is designed to do and, equally importantly, its limitations. Customers should be able to make an informed decision based on a proper understanding of the product rather than exaggerated claims.”
Initially, motorists will be able to have TireShield installed directly through Tuffi. The company also intends to progressively develop relationships with selected automotive and tyre industry partners where there is a suitable market fit.
Expanding into Fleet and Commercial Applications
Beyond the consumer market, TireShield and Tuffi see potential applications within Singapore’s commercial vehicle, fleet and logistics sectors.
For businesses that depend on vehicles for daily operations, an unexpected tyre puncture can result in more than inconvenience. It may also contribute to vehicle downtime, delayed jobs and lost productivity.
The B2B market will therefore form part of TireShield and Tuffi’s longer-term development strategy in Singapore, alongside direct consumer installations and selected automotive industry partnerships.
The approach will be progressive, with an emphasis on demonstrating the technology, understanding operational requirements and developing suitable applications for different vehicle and tyre categories.
Singapore as a Strategic Platform for Southeast Asian Growth
The Singapore launch represents an important step in TireShield’s broader Southeast Asian development.
Following its establishment in Malaysia, TireShield is using the Singapore rollout to further develop its approach to market education, distribution, technical training, installation, after-sales support and customer engagement.
Singapore will also provide an important foundation for strengthening the regional business model ahead of TireShield’s planned expansion into Thailand.
Rather than treating each country as an isolated market, TireShield’s longer-term objective is to develop a scalable regional approach built around established local partners, technical support, customer confidence and market-specific requirements.
Mr Teo said:
“Every market is different, so regional expansion has to be built on the right foundations. Malaysia gave us valuable experience in establishing TireShield, while Singapore allows us to strengthen the model through a trusted local partner. The lessons we gain here will be important as we continue building TireShield’s presence in Southeast Asia.”
Looking Ahead
The immediate priority for TireShield and Tuffi in Singapore will be to build awareness and give motorists, businesses and automotive industry partners greater opportunities to understand and experience the technology.
This will include product education, demonstrations, direct installations and the progressive development of retail, automotive industry and commercial fleet partnerships.
Over the longer term, the aim is to establish preventive tyre protection as an option motorists and vehicle operators can consider as part of their broader approach to tyre care and vehicle protection.
For TireShield, the Singapore launch represents more than the introduction of a product into a new market. It is an important step in building a broader regional presence and advancing its vision of making tyres safer, smarter and more resilient while helping reduce the inconvenience and downtime associated with common tyre punctures.
