Rolife’s 9th Anniversary Celebration Wraps Up at American Dream, Marking a Milestone in Building Its Global DIY Community

Sept. 6 event brought DIY fans of all ages together beyond the screen for creator talks, product previews and a hands-on workshop.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Rolife, the DIY lifestyle brand under ROBOTIME, celebrated its ninth anniversary at American Dream on Sept. 6. The four-hour event brought together Rolife representatives, brand ambassadors and Rofans, the brand’s fan community, for an afternoon bursting with creativity and entertainment. Online community members finally had the chance to meet in person and put faces to familiar usernames.

The program kicked off with a look back at Rolife’s nine-year journey. Oscar Qin, head of e-commerce and brand marketing at Rolife, gave a presentation on what craft means today. “Few things combine excitement and relaxation quite like turning imagination into something real. That is craft in our time. And that is why Rolife exists,” he said. He also thanked Rofans for their contributions to Rolife’s growth.

Taking center stage next were key members of Rolife’s DIY community. Rolife brand ambassador Tina Kaplan recalled how older workshop participants completed builds they had once thought were beyond them. Reddit moderator David Wintman traced his journey from a first book nook to moderating a Reddit community and sharing builds on YouTube. Gary VanOpdorp, a 75-year-old builder and Reddit moderator, described building as “active meditation” and a way to reflect and unwind.

A panel discussion continued the conversation, exploring how screen-free DIY can enrich everyday life, from learning new skills to finding time to slow down. Speakers also considered how these experiences could support personal growth and shape the community’s future.

Among the new products revealed, Rofans were treated to an exclusive look at a mechanical book nook and other miniature kits with fresh themes. The preview wowed fans and drew applause.

The afternoon concluded with an NYC-themed fridge magnet workshop. Rolife believes the joy of making is for everyone, so the workshop was free and open to the public. Adults and children created side by side, while curious passersby stopped to join. The simple project invited participants of all ages to experience DIY and discover what making meant to them.

With user experience and community at its core, Rolife marked a milestone with its U.S. anniversary celebration. The event brought the brand face to face with fans overseas and reflected its ambition to share DIY culture more widely. It also demonstrated the strength of a global DIY community united by the joy of making.
