The University of Phayao in a Meeting to discuss educational cooperation and exchange of medical learning with Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, People’s Republic of China
On Monday, April 10, 2023, Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, along with Assistant Professor Somkid Juwa, Ph.D. Dean, School of Public Health, and Assistant Professor Chittima Kaweera, Ph.D. Dean, School of Liberal Arts, Associate Professor Tipchan Wongchanta, Ph.D. Director, University of Phayao Chiang Rai Campus, Dr. Warangkana Klaching, Chairman, Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Program, and Mr. Boonkiat Benjalert, the expert of the Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program attended** the meeting to discuss educational cooperation and exchange medical learning with Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, People’s Republic of China.
The meeting with Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the morning discussed cooperation between the two institutions toward the organization of teaching traditional Chinese medicine, as well as research and collaborations in the future. The team was warmly welcomed by UP, following which they visited the classrooms of Chinese medical students with modern equipment, the chemical laboratory, and international students’ rooms. Then they took a tour of the university.
In the afternoon, the team paid a visit to the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in the university network, which is a large hospital where the University of Phayao permitted Chinese medical students to do internships. The UP visited various departments in the hospital, such as the acupuncture department, Tuina massage department, and orthopedic department. In addition, a visit to the museum of the hospital with a lecture on its founding history to the present day was included.
Established in 1954, the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the oldest and largest Chinese medicine organization established in Tianjin, specializing in the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. It is also the National Clinical Research Center for Acupuncture and Moxibustion, ranked as the First-Class Clinical Medicine Research Center and the National Drug Research Center.
