Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park signs MoU to help disadvantaged people enter the workplace

Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park will continue to give back to the community in 2023, as it signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Thailand’s Youth & Children Department to provide vital training and employment opportunities to disadvantaged young people in the kingdom.

Under this landmark agreement, the hotel will work with Bann Maha Mek, the government-funded foundation that helps Thai orphans to find employment, live on their own and integrate into society when they turn 18. As a pilot hotel for this CSR new project, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park will bring young adults into the workplace, provide professional training and help them to develop the skills they need for a career in the hospitality industry.

Each scholarship will last between three and six months, and trainees will be offered a daily allowance to cover their living costs. After the course has been completed, the young people will be considered for various positions at Marriott’s hotels and resorts in Thailand, including part-time and full-time roles.

“We are delighted to sign this MoU with Bann Maha Mek and the Youth & Children Department. At Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, CSR is at the core of everything we do. We strive to make a difference and raise the quality of life for those less privileged than ourselves. For many disadvantaged youths, the transition between childhood and adulthood is fraught with difficulty. But with access to training and employment opportunities, young people in Thailand can achieve stability and the chance of a bright future,” said Simon Bell, the hotel’s General Manager.
